Regional Port Operations and Container Management (RPC) cover responsibilities ranging from Regional Operations Control to Regional Container Steering for the whole of Europe. RPC is a unique unit where operations related to empty inventory management and coordination of loading laden units are centralized in one place.
Digital Transformation Development Team is responsible for defining business problems via in depth investigation and gathering of technical and non-technical information. Optimization of existing and creating new processes, developing innovative tools for Teams within the Department. Coordinating rollout of new systems and processes within the departments. Cost savings initiatives. Automation of department tasks. Analyzing data to support management in the decision making process.
JOB PURPOSE & PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading the digital transformation and automation of Regional Port Operations and Container Management business as a business partner, coordinating and supervising the team to deliver assigned tasks and internal customer satisfaction. Focusing on driving strategy, development and delivery of digital solutions by assuring quality and process/team efficiency.
Providing direction and supporting identification of opportunities to drive digital and automation transformation.
Leading the comprehensive end-to-end mapping of current-state business processes to resolve bottlenecks and operational friction points across functional teams to enhance processes.
Leveraging business analytics and data-driven insights to evaluate organizational performance and measure efficiency gains.
Serve as the senior escalation point for digital adoption bottlenecks, integration issues, or cross-departmental process blockers for resolving problems raised by stakeholders (i.e. regions, RHQ, GHQ, partner lines) outside and within RPC, and raising any problems with the Department Head when required.
Building strong collaborative networks across organisations to align digital priorities with broader business goals.
Supporting the team by making decisions influencing the day-to-day business within defined authority limits.
Acting as a link between upper management and staff. Maintaining and developing relationships with other teams and departments, RHQ and GHQ, to optimise communication, processes and overall efficiency.
Managing daily processes in line with agreed targets, company policies and guidelines.
Driving change management strategies to ensure smooth technology adoption by business teams across organisations.
Ensuring efficient utilisation of available resources.
Fulfilling the operational objectives of the teams.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Bachelor qualification in Logistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering or a blend of formal education with working experience in mentioned areas.
Min. 3 years leadership experience and min. 6 years relevant business experience.
Preferred knowledge of Technical Stack:
- Web Technologies: JavaScript, HTML, and CSS (Google Apps Script).
- Programming & DB: Python (especially in the context of Machine Learning) and SQL. BigQuery and LookML.
- Version Control: Git/GitHub.
- Agile Tools: Jira and Confluence, and the Scrum methodology.
Fluency in English.
