Job Purpose & Primary Job Responsibilities
Contribute to smooth operational processes in the country by delivering high quality about local port operations & customs. If applicable organize all feeder transportations in most efficient way within given guidelines. Furthermore, assist TL Port Operations & Feeder (& Customs) in activities regarding Terminal contracts, Alliance Meetings, survey arranging, monitoring of costs vs. revenues, mainly for port operation matters.
Process & Quality management: Optimize cost transparency and act a linkage between teams from Customer Services and with other departments / external bodies (customers/vendors/terminals).
Terminal problem solving: Coordination of regional port activities and keep close contact to terminals/customs/authorities for clarifying and solving problems/irregularities as local extension and close cooperation with our Regional Port Operations & Container Management (RPC) in Gdansk. Establish and remaining regional port contact persons for smooth port and terminal clarification and avoiding customs and timely hick-ups.
Maintenance and optimizing local contracts: Establish and maintain local contracts in line with agreements and assist local operation team establishing the most efficient systems covering the countries. Processing in efficient utilisation in OPUS, Control Spreadsheets, and port systems to ensure best possible support of all operational processes.
Feeder planning: Organize the daily activities for incoming feeder vessels in the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp. (i.e. handling customs matters, contact with terminals, arranging Carrier Haulage and Merchant Haulage and transhipment cargo). Ensure effective relations with other ONE offices and stakeholders act as a contact person for customer service to ensure correct communication.
Communication: Ensure accurate and detailed communication is given to all relevant internal and external stakeholders. Provide Information within ONE and Vendor on invoice amendments.
Required Skills and competencies
1-2 years of relevant working experience in shipping, ideally within operations and/or feeder environment
High level of problem solving and data analysis ability
Methodical and being able to prioritize workload
IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods) and customs knowledge
Ability to work in a pressurised environment
Diligent with high standards of accuracy and detail
Knowledge of GSuite and preferably OPUS know how
Articulate, clear oral and writing communication skills in English and Dutch
