Accounting Assistant

Are you the eagle-eyed professional who can spot a misplaced decimal from a mile away? Can you manage critical bookkeeping functions and is comfortable with a wide scope within the finance department? We are looking for a self-driven and enthusiastic Accounting Assistant to join our team for a temporary one-year position.


Job Description

This role will be key to the company's finance function, covering entities in Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. Responsibilities include:

- Day-to-day bookkeeping, including accruals/deferrals and employee expenses
- Handling accounts payables and bank payments
- Supporting month-end closing, including reconciliations
- Developing and streamlining accounting processes to ensure quality and correctness in all reports


This role also involves coordinating customer debts and managing the credit process for part of our customers. Responsibilities include:

- Deciding whether to extend credit to a customer
- Sending statements and reminders
- Communicating with customers regarding the collection of outstanding invoices
 

Your profile

We are seeking someone with experience from working in a finance department, as an accounting assistant or similar role, and specifically someone with a broad functional background across the finance department.

You should be meticulous, analytical, and structured, and someone who is self-driven and enjoys working both with details and the overall perspective. You should also be responsible, and possess a strong ability to collaborate and build good relationships with colleagues.

As a person, you are expected to be proactive and solution-oriented, taking initiative to drive improvements in processes and reporting.

You also need to have good working knowledge of IT-systems such as Google Workspace (Google Sheets) and MS Office (Excel). It’s required that you have good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English. 
 

Competencies

  • Experience from bookkeeping, month end closing and accounts payable
  • Good working knowledge in Google Workspace (Google sheets) and/or MS Office (Excel)
  • Attention to details, planning and organizing
  • Analytical and problem solving
  • Self-driven but also an enthusiastic team player
  • Advantageous if experience from credit control and SAP HANA/4
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English
