Inland Operations Procurement Coordinator

About the Role

As an Inland Operations Procurement Coordinator, you will play a key role in providing ONE’s European organization with a competitive, high-quality inland operating network. Operating within your mandate, you will lead vendor negotiations for intermodal (barge, rail, road) and depot services, manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and drive contract renewals.

You will collaborate closely with regional procurement leadership, local teams, and Inland Operations Control to optimize corridors, lower operating costs, minimize environmental impact, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Intermodal & Depot Procurement: Coordinate and execute yearly vendor negotiations for intermodal and depot services within your scope. Benchmark costs against historical data and current market trends. Implement service level agreements and act as the key commercial contact for logistics partners.
  • Network Strategy & Optimization: Contribute to regional and global procurement strategies. Propose new corridors, initiate transport mode changes to balance cost and environmental impact, and continuously drive cost reductions.
  • Cost & Revenue Performance: Partner with Inland Operations Control and local inland teams to maximize profitability, optimize planning, and recover ancillary costs (e.g., storage, waiting time, futile trips). Provide tariff and rate support to inland pricing teams and advise internal stakeholders on cost-effective routing.
  • Compliance & Audit: Maintain strict adherence to company regulations, JSOX, ISO14001 standards, and anti-bribery legislation. Support internal and external audits with clean findings and maintain complete vendor archives.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of working and thinking.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or hinterland network operations.
  • Strong understanding of the European transport network (rail, road, barge) and operational dynamics at container terminals/depots.
  • Advanced level of English (minimum B2). Excellent presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, digital affinity, and vendor relationship management.
  • Proactive, stress-resilient, accountable, and adaptable to dynamic, transforming environments.
